Writing Content In A Web 2.0 World

4 Jun 2008 by OnlineMarketer, 15 Comments »

You’ve heard all the hype about Web 2.0, but what does it all mean? How will it affect your business?

How do you communicate with potential readers and customers in this new era?

My free white paper, Writing Content in a Web 2.0 World, answers these questions and:

  • What exactly is Web 2.0?
  • How should your writing style change?
  • How has online interaction changed and what will this mean for the future of business?
  • What is the secret new currency in this market?

Download the white paper here: Writing Content in a Web 2.0 World

(The white paper is in PDF format. Download the latest version from Adobe here.)

And of course, please join the conversation! Leave comments here with your thoughts and suggestions for this or future white papers.

I considered requiring you to subscribe to my enewsletter to download the white paper. After all, if you were interested in this subject, it’s a sure bet you will be interested in my other content.

However, I’ve decided that this requirement does not fit well with my overall strategy or the community environment found in a Web 2.0 world.

Rather, I would just ask that you consider subscribing via email or RSS. Thanks!

    What a great white paper.

It’s true. In this day in age, authenticity is key. The quickest way to get blacklisted is trying to be something you’re not.

Like my mom and many others say: “Honesty is the best policy.”

  5. I just download the paper..
    Maybe I’ll review later..

  6. Nancy Gruver says:

Hi – the whitepaper download isn’t working – sounds like a great paper & I’d love to read it!

God… I wish someone would shoot this Web 2.0 bullshit…

Stop wasting our precious tube space with hype and meaningless terms.

These is new to me, I am quiet interested, ok I will look for this web 2.0 for me to know more about this subject.

  10. So, what did you use to create your ebook? Thanks in advance for sharing a list of tools or services you recommend. :) Cheers,

  11. I’ve looked around 5-10 pages here and in your Twitter profile (I’ve followed your tweets for a while)… and I can’t figure out who you are/ what your name is.

I was prompted to look because I clicked through from your tweet about the “shut up” contact form, and saw the same photo in that post that you use on Twitter.

Maybe your name/bio is here and I’ve overlooked it? Either way, now that I’ve come looking to find out about you and can’t, I am developing a wierd feeling about interacting with you on Twitter etc. I.e. red flags going up and trust going down. As a follower I’d love to learn about your thinking with the online identity issue? What’s up with that?

  12. Ohhhhhhhh… after more poking around I wonder, are you DJ Francis? I guess the matching photos would add up then. I didn’t know about your day job; didn’t put things together. I’m cautiously less perplexed now…

  13. OnlineMarketer says:

    Hi Rebekah,

I use the matching photos so that people can recognize me from social media place to place. My bio can be found on my About page, listed in the upper right of the homepage or found here: http://onlinemarketerblog.com/about-2/. My email address is listed there, as well.

I left this comment on Joel’s blog, probably right after you commented:
    http://www.socializedpr.com/if-your-blog-encourages-conversation-a-contact-form-says-shut-up

I use my name when it’s required – it’s no secret – as you can see from my FC profile and in Joel’s comment section. I don’t list it on my blog…I don’t know – some vestige of anonymity? Maybe I *should* list it in my About page, if I’m concerned about creating a personal brand…

I changed my Twitter profile, by the way, to include my name.

Sorry it was a problem for you. I didn’t know this was a concern for folks – thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I hope this restores some trust.

    Best,

    DJ Francis

  14. Bravo DJ! Yes I saw your bio but a bio without a name is like one hand clapping… anyway, well done re the updates…. thanks.
