I was talking about social media and marketing in general being able to increase market share. Those who master these tools (and beat their competitors to the punch) will be the ones who gain the spoils.

I&#039;m no history buff and it is unfortunate what happened to Sutter. Early adopting can certainly be tough. And thank you for pointing out this historical figure to me. His wikipedia page is very interesting. I had no idea he fled Europe because of business debts. Maybe the debtors he screwed over were early adopters too.</description>

		<description>Damn. You had to bring up the Gold Rush.  I was all ready to just read and nod and note and click on.  But damn, the Gold Rush analogy. Did you know that early adopters of 1849 killed Sutter&#039;s family and burned down his house and essentially stole the gold rights?  Did you know he died penniless in Pennsylvania still fighting Congress to get his land rights restore?  The bummer side of early adopting can be a cold, heartless, frenzied place. 

Just in case you want to flesh out that analogy with a bit of fair warning.</description>
